The Imperial College of Mines and Safety (ICMS) has held a graduation ceremony for some 262 students who have completed competency-based Advanced Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Management.
ICMS, recognized for its commitment to excellence, designed the training programme through extensive research spanning over two decades and collaboration with industry professionals worldwide.
The intensive three-month training programme aimed to empower both students and working professionals with indispensable knowledge, skills and behaviours essential for effective roles across the mining industry.
Interacting with the media on the side-lines of the ceremony held at the Kumapley Auditorium, situated on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) campus in Kumasi, some of the students expressed contentment with the quality of training provided by ICMS and encouraged their peers to seize upcoming training opportunities.
The four keynote speakers for the graduation ceremony covered several topics including understanding professional branding; the power of good networking; the role of goal setting as a professional, and becoming a catalyst for Ghana’s development.
A training and development professional, Seth Adedje, underscored the importance of networking beyond acquiring certificates.
Also, content developer and training professional, Gideon Azornu, urged graduates to build a distinct professional brand that potential employers could easily recognize and admire.
Master Wilfred Nii Kometety Ashong, a certified instructional designer, emphasized the significance of goal-setting for professionals, with Nathaniel Bruno Ansah urging graduates to become catalysts for Ghana’s development.
Awards were given to 33 deserving students in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
