In line with its aspiration of ‘Empowering Women, Transforming Communities’, on Wednesday, 17th January, the Women of Today Foundation embarked on a charity event in Adugyama, a community in the Ahafo Ano South East District of the Ashanti Region, Ghana. The gesture, birthed out of the spirit of giving back to society, had a total of more than 400 women who received a variety of essential food items and were provided with complimentary breast cancer education and screening services. And over 600 children received packs of biscuits and other confectionaries.
Belinda Appiah, Founder of Women of Today Foundation, who hails from Adugyama, expressed her joy at returning home to provide essential support to the women in her community. The event not only distributed vital food items to those in need, but also offered complimentary breast cancer education and screening services, promoting health awareness.
The presence of traditional and religious leaders added a cultural touch to the event, highlighting the unity of the community in embracing this noble cause. Belinda Appiah’s heartfelt commitment to uplifting her hometown resonated deeply with attendees, creating a sense of shared purpose.
The generous donation initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of Agricultural Manufacturing Group Ltd. and Enepa Ventures Limited, demonstrating the power of collaboration in making a positive impact on communities.
This heartwarming homecoming stands as a testament to the potential for positive change when individuals, local businesses and community leaders join forces for a common goal. Adugyama’s spirit has been uplifted not just by the tangible support received, but also by the collective commitment to creating a healthier and more connected community.
