Refill Health Tech, a leading Ghanaian healthcare technology solutions provider, has launched a game-changing innovation called Refill to transform healthcare delivery in Ghana. Gone are the days patients took their prescriptions around town in search of medications, or they could not keep track of their medication for a refill.

Refill is a community-based online engagement platform that enables patients, doctors, and pharmacies to engage and schedule, manage, and keep track of medication refill periods for patients. It streamlines medication management, improves patient outcomes, and enhances the operational efficiency of pharmacies.

Wherever patients are, they need not move an inch, using Refill, they could now engage with pharmacies to buy their prescribed medication.

Chief Executive Officer of Refill Health Tech, Andrew Otchere, said: “After years of thorough research and innovation development, we are finally here with a game changer that shall transform healthcare delivery.  Refill is a platform that enables patients, their doctors, and pharmacists to engage effectively to deliver patient-centric service.

The innovation is easy to use, it is free of charge, and it gives users access to hundreds of pharmacies across the country. All that patients or customers need to do is Dail *928*100# on their phones and type the name of the medicines they need. A pharmacist shall contact them to verify and confirm with them, then they could go ahead and make payment and get their medicines delivered to them in their homes or the nearest pharmacy,” Mr Otchere explained.

According to him, all the pharmacies they work with are duly authorised with professional pharmacists to attend to patients. Where necessary, the pharmacists communicate with patients and their doctors to help in prescriptions and medication scheduling and tracking.”

“Apart from all the benefits Refill comes with, affordability is key in our delivery. Hence, we do well to get the medicines from relatively affordable pharmaceutical shelves for  patients. So far, we have about 400 pharmacies and 3000 patients benefiting from Refill.”
