ASA Savings and Loans Limited, through its Zenu Business Centre, has presented a modern computer set, a router and a high-resolution projector to the ASHMA Tsui-Bleoo ‘2’ Basic School in the Ashaiman Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
At a brief presentation of the items to the school, the Ashaiman Area Manager of the company, Mr. Richmond Afari-Hayford, underscored the need to build the capacity of the younger ones through sound education, and added that this gesture forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The Branch Manageress of the Zenu Business Centre of ASA, Madam Beatrice Mori-Workey, emphasised that aside from support to education, the company commits resources toward supporting health facilities, providing safe drinking water and conducting free medical screening across communities.
The CSR Manager, Richard Nartey, said the company was not only interested in making profits, but also what it could do in terms of development to its host communities. He disclosed that the organisation is socially committed to supporting education in the company’s catchment areas.
He added that education was a critical tool that propelled the progress of societies and therefore, no effort should be spared in giving future leaders a better foundation.
The Headmistress of the School, Madam Nelly Tom- Aggrey, said the basic school had good grades during the BECE and this has led to an increase in enrolment, hence, putting pressure on the available infrastructure.
“These items presented will go a long way to solve some of our challenges as an educational institution.” She further, appealed to other benevolent individuals and organisations to come to their aid by providing them with infrastructural support.
In a related development, ASA Savings and Loans Limited, through its Atico Business Centre, has presented 40 pieces of school desks, two teachers’ tables and two teachers’ chairs to the Kaneshie/Awudome ‘1’ JHS in the Okaikoi South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The headmistress of the school, Madam Janet Owusua, said as a result of good results produced by the publicly run basic school, it has had increased enrolment rates; hence putting pressure on the available infrastructure. “These items presented will go a long way to solve some of our challenges as an educational institution”. She further asked other benevolent individuals and organisations to come to their aid by stocking their library with books, as it is currently ready for use but has no books to serve it purpose.
