Tejiri, an exceptional cinematic journey exploring themes of power, corruption, and the resilience of the human spirit, has been selected for the 28th edition of the Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR: Festival International du Cinema D’Auteur de Rabat), 2023 in Morocco.
Made through a Ghanaian-Nigerian collaboration, with all locations filmed in Ghana, Tejiri is about a displaced young man who finds himself in a vicious prison but is thought to be missing on the outside. Trapped in this brutal world ruled by cruelty and menacing inmates, he must fight to survive; As lead Detective Prempeh and his partner Baako race against time to uncover the mystery behind his disappearance.
Directed by Joshua Tsotso and Deladem Duvi, and produced by Christine Boateng and Abisola Aboaba (all graduates of the Multichoice Talent Factory, class of 2020); “Tejiri,” has garnered attention for it’s “artistic merit and storytelling excellence” – Malak DAHMOUNI, Director – Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR).
This prestigious festival is one of Africa’s biggest film festivals, renowned for its commitment to celebrating innovative and impactful works of cinema from around the world. It is dedicated to the Author cinema, a true cinema of art and thought in all its forms, to brave films, demanding, intelligent, even radicals who destroy the clichés; films that have an urgency and personal writing dedicated to humanity in all its forms.
These adjectives best describe Tejiri; as it carries a voice so loud, that questions the greed and corruption of people meant to serve and protect, but have rather become a threat to sanity and survival.

The 28th Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR) begun on November 10 and will end on November 17 in Rabat, Morocco. ‘Tejiri’ is part of the festival’s African cinema section, scheduled to screen on Monday, November 12, 2023, The film features awesome performances by Ghanaian acting talents; Brian Angels, Kofi Adu Gyamfi, Yvonne Maura Appiah, Bernard Kobina Acquah, Henry Agbai, Ziggy Netteyson, and many others.
