SNV Ghana has trained 23 small and medium enterprise (SMEs) in the Western Region on branding and sales strategies under the GrEEn Business Project.
The training aims at inspiring SMEs to prioritise quality and standards, and to embrace good branding practices.
Also, it is to support their marketing and advertising strategies in a bid to enable them compete favourably with other businesses.
Erasmus Mensah Ackon, Chief Executive Officer-Duapa Werkspace – a skills development and entrepreneurship hub, speaking to the media explained that there has also been six months of intensive incubation processes for the businesses, and mentorship sessions as well as Business to Business (B2B) trips to build strong marketing linkage.
The overall objective, he said, is to promote more market penetration methodologies, ensure access to various markets and build the SMEs’ wealth base.
“If you can’t sell, you can’t survive; so, we’ve connected them to industries – and this is the time for them to learn more about branding and sales, to be able to sell more of their products and be able to reach out to more customers,” said Mr. Ackon.
“Your sales strategy is key to future-planning, problem-solving, goal-setting and management,” he added.
Millicent Lambog, CEO-Eggs and More – one of the participating SMEs, noted how beneficial the course has been to her in terms of customer behaviour and feedback.
The SMEs later pitched sales ideas in a role-play to show their level of understanding and absorption at the three-day workshop’s end.
