Rockz Waakye opens flagship restaurant

The promise and vision of seeing Ghanaians patronise and enjoy waakye, as a delicacy as we do KFC and other food chains, is perhaps receiving traction as the new custodians of the meal – Zilla and Reggie – unveiled an outlet, a fine dining location for the age-long meal made from rice and beans.

The Grandpapa of Hiplife, Reggie Rockstone, and his wife Zilla Limann – both Akora’s of Achimota School – entertained guests at the opening of the new restaurant of Rockz Waakye last week at the Accra Tourist Information Centre.

The music legend who refuses to age and his adorable wife, in recent times, are acknowledged beyond the evolution of hiplife and appreciated as owners of one of the biggest food businesses in the heart of Accra.

The beauty of the launch garnered distinguished business leaders, guests and celebrities.

The new restaurant gives a unique feel distinct from Rockstone’s Office which hitherto had served as the main hub. Perhaps people that want a flashy place with no rendition of funky abience and the history of a pub will find pleasure having business and romantic dates at ‘Rockz Waakye’; the name of the meal resonates with the business or restaurant date.

A perfect place to propose to your partner, host your events and serve yourself to a fine meal, this location which will now serve as the head office is the third of their outlets. The other branches are located at Cantonments and East Legon. Open from 7am to 10pm from Mondays to Thursdays, Rockz Waakye is open for 24 hours from Fridays to Sundays. You can also get it delivered to you or order from the comfort of your home through the Glovo App.
