Mr. Stickz is a multi-talented personality – from being a serial entrepreneur and a versatile Afrobeat musical artist who has been in the music industry for a while; he doubles as a beauty consultant cum businessman.
After leaving the music scene to pursue other careers in the fashion and beauty world, he explored his entrepreneurial prowess in the world of product manufacturing, distribution and sales, which currently spans from hair care and household cleaning agent products to many more. He also founded one of the most wanted hairstyling services providing enterprise, ‘Stickz Beauty Plug’, where he mentors and tutors uncountable youths in Ghana.
On why he came back to his first love of music making, he said he believes in time, thus, after having a personal exploration of himself in every aspect, he just couldn’t allow this God-given talent of his to be swept under the rug. He knows that it is time after ten years of hiatus.
On fading off the music scene temporarily into ‘beauty’, the tranquil young man narrates his experience as “the absolute best decision I made 19 years back when I was in school. Being a beautician actually opens a lot of doors for me and creates more opportunities for me.
“Life is not a bed of roses for some of us, the system and the economy have never been fair to an African child; hence, we have to find a way out and create or learn something that can sustain us. The beauty world did it for me and also allowed me to implement my intellectual expertise in turning it into the sustainable and lucrative business it is today.”
His new single, ‘Odo’, is a Ghanaian parlance for ‘love’ but instead of using Yoruba or Swahili languages for this particular tune, he chose the Twi language because he personally doesn’t want to see himself in a box or being compounded by a particular ideology. He loves to explore, learn new things, meet new people, learn new languages, adapt to new cultures, and generally be an African. Mr. Stickz often tags himself as a Pan-Africanist and that includes sharing and exploring all other African languages.
