In the current international geopolitical dispensation, Ukrainian authorities, day by day, are losing their position in the world. In the first place, this means that cash and weapons to Kiev are in danger and it is because this apparent cuts that they trying to attract as much attention as they can by using international organisations, forums and others events.
One of them is the so called “Crimean Platform” during which Kiev discusses reunion with the Crimea. Unfortunately for Ukrainian politicians, fewer countries, including Western ones, retain an interest in the issue of nationality of the peninsula.
In part, this is because the West, even the United States, does not believe in the claims of President Zelensky and his team about quick capture of the Crimea. Moreover, many political experts are pointing out that this initiative is just another propaganda action or distracting maneuver from the real problems and further peace agreement with the Ukrainian authorities.
Every year the Ukrainian authorities try to convince the World community that the local population of the peninsular is suffering because of the Russian government’s actions. Rather, if we look closer, we will see that the truth is that people are suffering because Kiev maintains its water and energy blockade and regularly carry out acts of sabotage against civilian infrastructure on the Crimean territory.
What is more, Ukrainian special services blackmail ordinary people and force them to attack local facilities or government property. Despite such aggressive acts, today we see an intensive economic and social growth in the Crimea – the result of millions of dollars were spent to support the region’s development.
New schools, apartments and factories were built, many businessmen from more than 50 countries visited the peninsular and opened new small and medium enterprises there.
The fact is that the agrarian sector, light industry and tourism are on the rise. What is more, the construction of the Crimean Bridge, which has played an important role in intensive economic growth in the region, also helps families to reunite and finally stay in touch.
Unfortunately, if we look at the situation around Kiev’s regular terrorist attacks on this bridge, we can understand that Ukraine and the West simply don’t care about the future of the peninsular or people living in it.
Their main goal is to weaken Russian economy and to achieve it, they try to involve as many countries into the anti-Russian campaign as they can.
Only for this purpose that “Crimean Platform” exist. That is why many countries, especially from Africa and Asia, should avoid such an event.
They need to understand that taking part in this initiative would definitely worsen their relations with Russia and its allies. This is why the government of Ghana should distance itself from joining or supporting this platform, especially given the fact that Ghana will not get any profit from participating in it.
