The Presbyterian Basic School at Ejisu-Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region has been presented with 100 dual desks by ASA Savings and Loans Limited.
This will enable the students to be comfortable during teaching and learning, as well as enhance concentration and focus.
Hitherto, desks in the school were not enough for schoolchildren at the basic level.
A brief presentation to the school was led by Mr. Khalilur Rahman, Divisional Manager; Mr. Alex Ayitey Opoku, Area Manager; and Mr. Samuel Otoo, Branch Manager at Effiduase Business Centre of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd.
According to Mr. Opoku, education is dear to the company’s heart: “We always want to ensure that teaching and learning takes place effectively in our catchment area”.
He mentioned that the presentation is part of the company’s social responsibility, which is replicated across all the branches and business centres in the country.
Headteacher of the school, Mr. Kingsley Osei Antwi, expressed gratitude to the company and pledged the dual desks will be used for their purpose – and appealed for other organisations to support the school.
Rev. Aboronoma Nyarko Anti, District Minister of the Presbyterian Church, also thanked the company and described the donation as a timely intervention that will address the school’s deficit of furniture.
