The Tamale Zone played host to a health walk and medical screening on Saturday, 16th September, 2023 as part of the activities outlined for the celebration of the bank’s 70th anniversary.
A delegation of the bank’s management, together with staff and management of the Tamale Zone, participated in a five-kilometre walk through the principal streets of Tamale.
The walk began with a warm-up session at the Tamale Jubilee Park. A brass band provided music and extra motivation to get the staff excited throughout the walk. At the end, management and staff converged at the Tamale Area Office, where an instructor took them through for a few minutes of aerobics.
The medical screening was facilitated by Dr. Humphrey Narh of the GCB Bank Medical Department. Screening stations were set up for checking vitals – pulse rate, weight and blood pressure, eye tests, checking the ears and throat, and blood sugar and dietary requirements of the body.
Managing Director of GCB Bank, Mr. Kofi Adomakoh, addressed the staff and explained that the decision to embark on a health walk and medical screening was motivated by management’s interest in the health of staff and customers. He encouraged everyone to take better care of themselves in their day to day lives and advised that they visit each of the screening station present on the grounds.
The Tamale Area Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Seidu, also thanked staff for their cooperation in making the walk a successful one and encouraged all staff to exercise regularly.
An estimated number of one hundred and eighty people showed up to participate in the day’s activities.
The visiting delegation also included General Counsel of the Legal Department, Miss Jessie Jacinto; Executive Head, Retail Banking, Mr. John Adamah; Chief Digital and Marketing Officer, Mr. Eric Coffie; Executive Business Manager to the MD, Mr. Kofi Osei-Asibey; Tamale Area Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Seidu; the Bank Manager of the UDS Campus Branch, Mr. Hamza Alagbara Saani; and representatives of the Corporate Affairs Department.
