Edern Security Services Ltd. (ESSL), a wholly Ghanaian-owned private security company, has introduced a new product to hasten emergency security response services.
The product which is dubbed “just alert” is a security trigger system that sends a signal to security authorities for swift response in case of intrusion at any point in time.
In the case of a fire, burglary, or break-in, a fast response time can prevent or minimize property damage, theft, or harm to life. In the event of a fire, a fast response time can help to prevent the spread of fire and minimize damage to your home, hence the importance of technological solutions that help to address response time.
The system being deployed by the only security company in West Africa to be granted an International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) 18788:2015 certification, is the first of its kind in the country and is targeted at aiding to reduce emergency response time to 15 minutes on average.
Explaining the features and function of the system Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Edern Security, Emmanuel Quartey, mentioned that security issues are of ultimate concern to every nation and its citizens, especially the response time to emergencies to mitigate or control the situation, and critical to attainment of such an initiative is ability to spread information to others about the danger for rescue, hence the introduction of such a device to address that gap.
“The just alert is a device and a platform that can send intel to about eight people that have been configured to the system anytime it’s triggered through an intrusion or attack to respond swiftly with security assistance.
It is a portable device that includes a door contact sensor, motion sensor, two remote controls, and other accessories that collectively work to signal for external support,” he said.
He added that the system is integrated with Edern security’s platform and sends signals with specific locations for the emergency response team that is always ready on site to move immediately.
Edern Security’s emergency response team then contacts the Ghana Police Service (GPS) for backup when they get to the location and notice it’s an armed robbery situation that requires more attention.
The device works in such a way that noise and happenings at the location are recorded and analysed by the monitoring team is ascertain the nature of the situation at hand.
