ASA Savings and Loans Ltd., through its Business Centre at Bechem, has donated items to support infrastructure requirements of the Special Needs School located in the heart of Tano South municipality of the Ahafo Region.
The items donated include a 4,000-ltr water storage tank, 20 pieces of student mattress and 20 units of chairs, among others.
The donation was made on Founders’ Day and forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Mr. Armstrong Adu Boakye, Principal of the school, mentioned that the school has a population of about 600 students in the Nursery, Primary, JHS and Technical SHS levels.
“We lack adequate infrastructure to enhance effective teaching and learning, and so the timely intervention of your kind gesture will go a long way to improve the education of these students who are physically challenged through no fault of theirs.
“We call on Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and other benevolent groups to come to our aid at these times of financial distress,” added Alfred Frimpong Brobbey, Vice Principal-Domestic.
The company’s Area Manager in the Ahafo Region, Mr. Emmanuel Opare, gave assurance of the company’s continued support to the school.
Mr. Richard Nartey, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) /Climate Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, said the company holds its social investment and interventions in high esteem and is committed to supporting communities where it operates throughout the country.
“As a corporate body, we are committed to giving back to society and will continue supporting government in improving educational and health infrastructure to improve lives,” he added.
