The Western Regional Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has begun the installation of some 40,000 new prepaid metres for customers within the region.

“New applicants can come to the office; don’t use any middle man to get your metre,” Emmanuel Justice, Western Regional General Manager of ECG, advised prospective applicants.

He explained that the registration fee for the new metres is GH¢100. “With this, you are assured of getting your metre within 10 days. Also, if you apply for premium, you will get you metre within 24 hours.”

According to him, the company is serving those with new service first; after which, it will address challenges on faulty metres.

We will also convert or replace the old post-paid metres to prepaid ones to help improve the services rendered to the customers,” he added.

He was hopeful that the arrival of new metres will bring satisfaction to customers.

Touching on the issue of unpaid bills, Mr. Ofori said measures have been put in place to retrieve arrears.
