José Viñals, Group Chairman-Standard Chartered PLC, will pay a two-day working visit to Ghana. While in the country, José will meet with key stakeholders and clients.
José was appointed to Standard Chartered PLC in October 2016 and became Group Chairman in December 2016. He has substantial experience in the international regulatory arena and exceptional understanding of the economic, financial and political dynamics of our markets and of global trade; and a deep and broad network of decision-makers in the jurisdictions of our footprint.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank PLC, José was Financial Counsellor and Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
José is also Co-Chair of the United Nations’ Alliance of Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD).
José holds Doctorate (PhD) and Masters’ degrees in Economics from Harvard University, and a Master in Economics from the London School of Economics.
