ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Zenu Business Centre, has organised free medical screening as a way of sharing their profits with their clients in their operational area.
The medical screening, which was in partnership with Haven Health Care, is organised annually for individuals to check on their health, get to know their status, and appreciate the need for further check-up depending on the diagnoses.
This year, a total of 145 people were screened and tested on malaria, hepatitis B, blood pressure, sugar level, among others.
They were given medication according to the type of ailments.
Dr. Solomon Ntaadu, Head of the medical team for the health screening noted that malaria and high blood pressure were the most predominant diseases.
He advised those who were diagnosed of malaria to always keep their surroundings clean and sleep in insecticide treated nets as well as take their medicine to the last dose.
On high blood pressure, he recommended that they take brisk walking daily and exercise a lot, reduce the intake of salt, sugar and alcohol, as well as take in a lot of water.
Ms. Beatrice Mori-Workey, Branch Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, was happy about the turn up.
She mentioned that the free health screening has always been part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, adding that: “health is paramount in our day-to-day activities”.
Mr. Eugene Owusu Biney, Area Manager of the company, added that the screening is for the clients to know their health status and then live a healthy life.
He urged other institutions to emulate the example of ASA Savings and Loans by organising similar events in their catchment area.
