Equilibrium Consult Limited has organised a two-day trade show dubbed ‘African Choice Trade Fair’ in Accra as part of efforts to boost business networking among African entrepreneurs.
The trade show aims to showcase African-owned businesses, products and services, as well as encourage entrepreneurs to be more efficient.
“We thought it is very important to encourage our entrepreneurs to interact with one another, learn and become more efficient at what they do,” Project Manager for African Choice Trade Show Austin Chijioke Ngurukwem said.
He continued by saying that the goal is to assist business owners to market their craft and inspire others.
Mr. Ngurukwem mentioned that there were plans to hold digital marketing training for the participants in order to strengthen their marketing strategy, noting that social media plays a significant role in a successful business.
“It is very good for all these vendors to learn from one another in terms of how to project their products and services online, how to make it go viral, how to target the right audience, how to use that platform to increase their customer base, and how to preserve the integrity of online marketing. So we are looking at taking advantage of everything online marketing to ensure efficiency in doing business in Africa,” he further said.
A participant at the trade show, George Adjei, Marketing Manager at Ketapal, sharing his views about the event, mentioned that it is a platform for his company to exhibit its products and to announce its presence.
“Being here is a great opportunity for the company. We want to use the opportunity to sell ourselves to Ghana and consumers of tea. We also want to use this opportunity to encourage Ghanaians to consume more tea to enjoy its benefits,” Mr. Adjei, whose outfit sells tea beverages, added.
The Ghana Standard Authority (GSA), together with Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), was present to educate the vendors on how they can better position themselves to meet standards and reach a wider market.
