The Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL) is set to host the 2023 Ghana International Trade Fair (GITF) aimed at building and supporting small and medium enterprises to meet the global export market.
Announcing the upcoming event in a press release, GTFCL’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Agnes Adu, said building and supporting SMEs to become competitive on the global export market “is crucial in the country’s journey to economic recovery.”
Scheduled to take place from March 1 – 7 at the West Hills Mall, the fair is under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Touching on the theme, ‘Strengthening SMEs: A key to Economic Recovery’, Dr Adu said SMEs will be taken through a series of sessions to build their capacities in accessing funding and networking.
“Our core mandate, which is to facilitate trade and industry through the organisation of fairs and exhibitions on behalf of the Ghana government, allows us to create the platform for SMEs to build capacity for export through collaborative programs with other state agencies, private organisations, NGOs and other stakeholders in trade facilitation,” Dr Adu noted.
The Fair is expected to see some 500 local and international businesses in Africa and beyond, with a potential market population of 250 million.
