Osafric Construction and Mining with its sister company Osafric Ventures Ltd. – a freight forwarding firm – donated items worth GH¢30,000 to all schools in the Ehiamenkyene Circuit of  Fanteakwa South District Assembly.

Printing and making photocopies were serious challenges to teachers in the Circuit. They relied on a small stationery shop in the town, and it only opens once in week when it’s market day.

The company got wind of the challenges through the District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South District Assembly, and intervened with a brand-new projector, printer, desktop computer and 700 customised exercise books.

Bright Baah, School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) for the Circuit – who also represented the District Director for Education together with all school headteachers, received the items on behalf of schools in the Circuit. He thanked the company for its kind gesture and gave assurance of an equitable distribution for the exercise books and other items donated.

David Amponsah, project manager for the company, seized the opportunity to highlight some of donations made by the company over the last couple of years. The company made donations to Akropong School of the Blind, Nsawam Prisons, Akyem Akroful JHS; and gave PPE materials to Atiwa East District Assembly, and last year Gyampomani Presby Primary School.

The company supports tertiary students with payment of fees and others. He reiterated that last year was a tough one for the company as prices of building materials skyrocketed, but the company decided not to use funds meant for the staff get-together and rather gave it to Ehiamenkyene Schools.

Raphael Odonkor, District Coordinator for NADMO who represented the District Chief Executive, also thanked the company for such a wonderful move to mitigate the suffering of teachers in the Circuit. He also admonished the teachers to make good use of the items.

Chief Executive Officer for Osafric Construction and Mining and Osafric Ventures, Oscar Adu Sarfo, said he has education at heart; and his basic aim is to see that every child gets better education irrespective of their geographical location. His company has been supporting education to improve the living conditions of teachers and also develop our children, for they are the future of this country.

The company liaised with Yah-Salem Foundation to give sensitisation on personal hygiene and adolescent reproductive health issues to students.

The Founder and Leader of Yah-Salem Foundation, Mary Adu, advised students – especially the girls on – the importance of adhering to personal hygiene and staying chaste to prevent unwanted pregnancies and STIs.

The Osafric Group of Companies together with Yah-Salem Foundation gave the students hot meals, drinks and water to make the occasion memorable.
