Empire Builders staff appeal to government to protect them, prevent sale of their lands

The staff of Empire Builders Limited are appealing to government to intervene in ongoing instances of brutality being meted out to them on land at Adjiringano belonging to the company which is part of the Trasacco Group.

According to them, some men wearing camouflage uniforms attacked them when they are going about their daily duties attacked them and police officers called to the scene to maintain order.

At a press briefing today in Accra, the PR Consultant of Empire Builders, Kwame Owusu Danso said the activities of their attackers are threatening the livelihood of the over 4,000 staff of the company.



“The men brutally attacked the workers; demolished the company’s property; cleared part of the company’s land and are preparing to sell it to unsuspecting members of the public,” Mr Danso alleged.

“Every effort of Empire Builders Limited to protect its land has been met with brute force from these men parading as soldiers.”

The workers want National Security, Interior Ministry, the CID boss and the president to intervene in the enforcement of the Supreme Court ruling about the ownership of the land.

They have also threatened to embark on a demonstration if their appeal is not acted upon in two weeks.
