It was all fun and excitement at the University of Ghana campus as the pupils of The BabyNest thrilled their parents and other admirers with performances in commemoration of Christmas last Saturday, December 10, 2022.
The children, who are from the five facilities of The BabyNest across the city of Accra, entertained their audience with Christmas carols, choreography, poetry and other fun activities.
The Executive Director of Operations for the school, Patience Hodo, indicated that getting the children to put up such performances is a way of justifying the investment their parents have made in them as well as giving back to society.
Thrilled with the performances, some parents became advocates for the school by calling on other parents to enrol their children in The BabyNest for holistic Early Childhood Development of their children, and to ensure value for their investment in their children.
One such advocate was the Head of GBC News, Madam Akusika Acquaye. According to the veteran journalist, her child is learning fast and a lot based on the excellent tuition, learning environment, and extra-curricular activities that pertain in the school.
“It has been a good journey. I love The BabyNest and I have been recommending it to a lot of people, and I want to believe that the various facilities will help somebody that I have introduced [the school] to. I will continue to ask more people to take their kids to The BabyNest simply because the children learn a lot,” she said.
Babynest school
The BabyNest has five facilities in Accra located in Dansoman; University of Ghana – Legon, Westlands, Osu and East Legon. According to managers of the school, because they do not want the children to be neither lazy nor dull, they have struck a good balance between work and play, hence, a hybrid curricular system that reinforces and contributes to holistic child development. With regards to the curricular system, the school runs a combination of various internationally recognised systems, such as the Montessori, the British Curricula, and the traditional methods.
Children are usually tutored in ICT, I-Math, French, Reading, Ballet, Creative Art, Cookery & House chores, the Art of Public Speaking, STEM & Robotics, etc.
They also undertake other activities, such as heritage celebrations, career events, and many more mentally and socially engaging structured activities. Other services that the school offers parents in order to help ease the burden of child-care on the parents are Home Tuition, The BabyNest Fun House – where the children enjoy summer activities in August, and the After School Homework Support Centre – where they provide extra academic support for children up to age 10. Weekend Care services are also available on demand.
