Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the King of the Ga State, known in private life as Dr. Kelvin Nii Tackie Abia, was the Special Guest for the 5th edition of Ghana Industry CEO Awards which happened on November 18, 2022.
The annual award scheme is aimed at identifying and publicly recognising the most outstanding Chief Executive in corporate Ghana across a wide range of sectors. Eligible awardees include CEOs of both private and public sector corporations and institutions.
This year’s awards had the ‘GH Titans category’, which was to celebrate icons in Ghana. Winners were Joyce Rosalind Aryee, a former Minister of State, a Management and Communication Consultant and a Counsellor; and Joshua Alabi, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and a former Member of Parliament.
The other category was also the ‘Ghana’s Most Respected CEO’, which was also won by Michael Bartlett-Vanderpuye, President and Chairman of M&C Group Global; Mawusi Nudekor Awity, Director-General, Ghana TVET Service; Joe Leslie Obeng-John, MD at Cornerstone Developments, and others.
Meanwhile, the awards night had important guests, among whom are Jean Claude Galea Mallia, High Commissioner of Malta; Fidelia Graand-Glon, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname; Ingrid Mollestad, and Ambassador, Royal Norwegian Embassy.
In an interview, the overlord of the Ga State expressed how honoured he was to have witnessed such a beautiful event. He congratulated all winners who contributed to the socio-economic development of the country, and also encouraged the CEOs who won as well as those who didn’t to work harder.
