…defeats Francis Hagan, defending champion

Naa Shika Odonko, representing the Greater Accra Region, has won the second edition of Brain Bank with a total score of 64 points.

The unassuming 22-year-old Hostess, who works with Lancaster Accra Hotel, walks away with GH¢10,000 after beating Francis Hagan, the maiden edition winner from Takoradi who placed second with 41 points, and the Kumasi representative, Elvis Oppong, the third place winner with 32 points.

The ‘Brain Bank Quiz’ seeks to empower teaching and learning while expanding the minds of both listeners and contestants on their knowledge of Ghana and its dynamic and colourful culture.

Speaking about the contest, Osei Kuffour, Head of the YFM Triangle, said: “I am very proud of all the finalists, they have shown the depth of their knowledge about Ghana and the world around them, and that has to be applauded.”

He also expressed profound appreciation to Edusol Consult and GTA for sponsoring the 2022 edition of Brain Bank, and encouraged interested participants to be on the lookout for the next edition.

The three finalists will make a trip to a destination of choice within Ghana as part of their winning packages.

Naa Shika is an old student of Tema Secondary School. She also pursued a one year certificate course at the Accra Technical University. Her dream job is to become an air hostess in the near future. She chooses banku and okro stew as her favourite meal. She has lived in Accra all her life and hopes to travel to the Northern Region if she has to choose a Ghanaian destination of choice.

The second edition finale came off at the etv Ghana studios and hosted by Johnny Stone, the Presenter for Y Campus Express on YFM.

The 2022 edition of the ‘Brain Bank Quiz’ is sponsored by Edusol Consult – a leading name in promoting and facilitating overseas education for Ghanaian students – and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
