Rokmer Pharma Ltd., one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the country, has supported a blood donation exercise organized by Onua TV/FM, in collaboration with the National Blood Bank (NBB), to stock the agency with enough blood for emergency response.
The blood donation exercise was held under the theme: “Donate blood, save a life,” and forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Rokmer Pharma supported the event with its hematinic line of products including Feroclear, Klire Carbonyl, and Haemoforte brands. Samples of these products were given to donors so as to stimulate the formation of blood cells and increase the hemoglobin levels in the blood of the donors after they had donated. Rokmer range of hematinic brands contains folic acid, Iron III, and zinc.
The Managing Director of Rokmer Pharma, Richard Acheampong, in a speech, read on his behalf, stated the importance of blood and the need for all to join hands by volunteering to donate blood which was always in high demand at medical facilities.
Rokmer Pharma Ltd was incorporated in Ghana on July 27, 1999, under the relevant laws of Ghana and under the regulations of the Pharmacy Council. Currently, the company operates a wholesale outlet located at Kaneshie.
The company’s other lines of products include Feroclear Blood Tonic, Klire Carbonyl Syrup, Klire pain killers, Klire Anaesthetic Antacid suspensions, different ear, eye, and nasal drops, Cough syrups, Anti-fungal creams, Gripe water, and many other extemporaneous preparations.
The company expressed its intention to continue supporting such blood donation activities in the future as part of its corporate social responsibility.
