The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has marked this year’s Customer Service Week at Ho in the Volta Region, which also coincided with the launch of SSNIT Mobile Service Week.

Customer Service Week is an international celebration instituted in 1991 and observed in the first week of October. The Week is commemorated to appreciate the importance of customer service and the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

The celebration is also aimed at raising awareness on the value of customer service, rewarding employees for their significant work output, appreciating members and clients, improving morale at the workplace and building teamwork among others.

Marking the celebrations at Ho, the Member and Client Services Manager of SSNIT, Mrs. Victoria Abaidoo, said the Trust’s successes chalked-up in the area of Customer Service delivery indicate members and clients are satisfied with the quality of services offered.

“Here at SSNIT we value the services provided to our members and clients, because without them we are not in business; and it is important to stress that Customer Service Week will serve as a platform to reiterate to our members and clients that the Trust is a customer-centric organisation that puts needs of the customer first.

“We are also celebrating all staff – especially front-end workers who represent the face of SSNIT,” she noted.

Mrs. Abaidoo further explained that the event will also provide a platform to sensitise members and clients on the Trust’s products and services and encourage the self-employed to sign on to the SSNIT Scheme.

Each year, thousands of workers in the pensions and insurance industry, manufacturing and hospitality sector, government agencies, non-profit organisations among other institutions celebrate Customer Service Week.

A total of 69 vantage locations were selected across the country’s 16 regions to provide services for members and clients, and enable them to access services of the Trust with ease.

Services being offered include issuing statements of accounts; registration of employers and workers; benefits processing initiation; renewal of Pensioner Certificates; merging SSNIT and NIA numbers; general enquiries about the business and operations of SSNIT among other services.
