The Bui Power Authority (BPA) has made a cash donation, together with assorted drinks and water to the Asogli State Council toward the celebration of this year’s Yam Festival (Te za).
The presentation was done on behalf of Management and Staff of BPA by Dr. Rebecca Acquah-Arhin, BPA board member, who was accompanied by Ing. Samuel Nimako Boateng, Director, Power Operations; Fati Saaka, Snr. Protocol Officer; and Mawuli Fui Kwadzovia, Snr. Corporate Affairs Officer.
The Jubilee Park, Ho, where the colourful event displaying the rich customs and traditions of the people of Asogli took place, was built during the tenure of the current Chief Executive Officer of BPA, Samuel Kofi Dzamesi, then Volta Regional Minister.
Background of Asogli Yam Festival
Asogli Yam Festival (Te Za) is an annual festival celebrated by the people of Asogli in the Ho Municipality located in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is celebrated annually in the month of September to celebrate the cultivation of yam that was started by a hunter who found the tuber in the forest during his hunting expedition.
