GTP Ghana has once again thrown their unwavering support for the most rewarding beauty pageant in Ghana, Miss Malaika Ghana. The 20th edition dubbed ‘The Emerald’ season of the pageant was no exception as the textile company have expressed their interest in sponsoring yet again.
On Friday, August 2022, a contract signing meeting was held between the Miss Malaika team led by CEO of Charterhouse, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade and the team from GTP led by MD of GTP, Fatoumata Doro. According to the MD of GTP, Fatoumata Doro, the decision of their outfit to keep sponsoring Miss Malaika over the years is mainly the values the pageant impacts on young women in society. “The partnership really matters to us, we believe in what you are doing, your values and even with new leadership, we will still continue with Miss Malaika”. She also mentioned that they wanted the Miss Malaika team to be aware of where they are headed in terms of brand vision.
Miss Malaika, in its 20th edition has for the past years, had a cordial business and personal relationship with one of Africa’s biggest textile company, GTP. They have been providing fabrics for the delegates from start to finish of the TV reality show which usually lasts 10-13 weeks. Fatoumata mentioned that the reason for their association with Miss Malaika is because they want to go into fashion. “We are trying to move towards fashion that is why a partner like you is important, because you are one of the few beauty pageant that shows fabrics in a stylish way and we want to use the platform to showcase the different type of design and service we offer at GTP”
The CEO of Charterhouse, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade also reiterated the relationship shred between the two brands. “We have had a long history with GTP, through various management teams, personally I think GTP is a home and has been for the company throughout the Miss Malaika journey and beyond”. She further touched on how excited they were to once again work with GTP especially with their new brand vision. “We are excited with the new brand vision and excited to see how we can use the platform to propagate it while the season runs”
The meeting ended with both outfits i.e. Charterhouse and GTP signing a one year contract and expressing gratitude and anticipation on how this year’s 20th edition will pan out.
