Achimota Retail Centre, Accra’s busiest one-stop shopping destination, is all set to open its biggest-ever street shopping carnival for patrons in the next couple of weeks, the mall’s management announced in Accra yesterday
Authorities at ‘Achimota Mall’ say sections of the centre’s spacious open-air car park will be re-designed into an expo venue to house over thirty specialised vendors, who will showcase and trade in a wide variety of products and services for three days starting on Friday, August 26.
The ARC 2022 Street Fair is a special collaboration between the mall and Truth Marketing, an Accra-based events management firm; throughout its preparatory stages, the fair has been widely tagged by market watchers as an irresistible opportunity for bargain hunters and wild shopping deals.
“This fair is bringing to our patrons a rare collection of goods and services in special retail categories: including African fashion and jewellery; kitchen and household appliances; general health and wellness products; Interior and home décor; beauty, skin care and cosmetics; natural spices and condiments’ handcrafted art and paintings; and a wide range of gift items,” Marketing Manager Kobby Ampong told reporters.
Ampong disclosed that the list of vendors and companies lined up for the fair keeps growing by the day, although it is the ARC management’s decision not to admit more than 40 vendors for the three-day shopping carnival.
With barely ten days to go, the line-up of vendors includes notables like Gygy Beauty, SuVes Foods, Subfields, Daysah Ventures, GHIPSS, Lymdok Clothing, ADM Local Drinks, We Naturals, Itinerance, Zesty Foods and Sips, Everything Kenkey and Alahagh Mall Limited, revealed the Marketing Manager.
“As a true community-sensitive shopping facility, we are determined to at least once in a year create a platform that enables our patrons to engage and interact with external vendors whose goods and services fall outside our scope of operation,” Ampong said, disclosing that a number of ARC tenants will however participate in the fair.
“Indeed, exciting things will happen at this year’s fair; and I hope that in the course of the three days not only our traditional customers but every shopper in Accra will get to experience the excitement and benefits of bringing so many different vendors together under a single roof,” Ampong said.
Achimota Retail Centre is located at Dome near St John’s Grammar School, on the Accra-Nsawam Highway. Over the past six years, the Centre – best known by patrons as ‘Achimota Mall’ – has brought modern, convenient, one-stop shopping to several communities in the south-eastern sector of Accra; including Tantra Hill, Ofankor, Ashongman Estates, Dome, Kwabenya and the Achimota township.
