- Ghana likely to be the manufacturing hub
Syinix Electronics, a lead manufacturer of home appliances has created a unique all-purpose home appliance to help in the preparation of swallow foods such as fufu, banku, and kokonte, among others designed for the African markets.
The technology, known as the ‘Swallow Maker,’ is designed to replace the tedious and time-consuming old ways of preparing foods like fufu, banku, kokonte, boiled yam, in Ghana; eba, pounded yam, amala, and semolina in Nigeria; and ugali in Kenya.
In addition, Swallow maker supports creative cooking, allowing users to try out more new creative ingredients, recipes, and many more, which are mainly consumed in African homes.
General Sales Manager, Syinix Electronics, Justin Liu, speaking to the media on the sideline of the launch indicated their research data shows that 83 percent of Africans eat swallowed foods on regular basis, however, the preparation process for these favourite meals tends to be very tedious and time-consuming. Therefore, the introduction of this technology marks a new era in the preparation of swallowed foods that require minimal human work.
He added further that since the product was developed based on a research data report, a similar data gathering mechanism would be used to collect information on the reception of the gadget, and based on that data, a manufacturing plant is likely to be established in Ghana after a one-year assessment to produce the product for the entire sub-region.
“The swallow-maker is a fully automated machine and all the consumer needs to do is to put the ingredients in the machine, set a time and wait for the food to come out. The typical way to prepare swallow food like fufu is for one to pound with a pestle which requires a high degree of time, energy, and attention.
But today, we can say goodbye to this traditional production method as the all-purpose Swallow Maker is here to save your time and energy. The machine encourages creative cooking and we encourage users to try a combination of ingredients and recipes,” he stated.
The sales manager further indicated that the product was multifunctional, easy to clean, and has a large capacity that is capable of feeding a family of four or five.
Marketing Manager, Syinix Ghana, Richard Effah, on his part stated that the team visited different households in different African countries to know more about their staple food and their preparation methods, and after more than four years, the all-purpose swallow maker was developed.
Adding that since its inception, the Syinix brand had operated in more than 20 African countries, making it a brand that enjoys significant success in the African market.
“Our brand vision is to provide African families with reliable products that seek to improve their quality of life. As always, Syinix is committed to innovation and strives to improve the quality of its products that it localizes to the African market.
We aim to become the undisputed home appliance brand in the African market through superior quality products. We are a brand that is customer oriented and as such has an African research and development team whose main focus is to satisfy customer needs and wants through innovation,” he stated.
