Deloitte Ghana, as part of its 75th anniversary celebration, has held a dinner in Accra to bring together staff, clients and partners, among others, to celebrate the company’s success and achievements through the years.
Speaking at the dinner, which also had in attendance government officials and various corporate heads, Deloitte Africa CEO Ruwayda Redfearn commended the Ghana team for its outstanding and consistent performance over the years, which has contributed immensely to the country’s economy and rendered valued service to companies.
He urged them to never forget the company’s principle of ‘Purpose Beyond Profit’, as it will guide all staff to work in a more responsive and responsible manner to bring change in society.
“As society’s expectations on the role of business increase, responsible leadership must be responsive leadership – embracing a mindset of Purpose Beyond Profit helps us address this heightened call for action.
“I would like to spend some time sharing with you, Deloitte Africa’s DNA…which is having at our core a Purpose Beyond Profit.
“Deloitte Africa is a trusted global partner in Africa. We optimise our influence, capabilities and backing of the global Deloitte network to full effect in solving some of the social problems on the continent: including education, health, financial inclusion and inequality,” he said.
He further reminded staff to acknowledge that it operates in delicate ecosystems and requires each worker to act with due considerations of other actors in the system.
“Our purpose is reflected in every decision we take and everything we do: how we treat our people, who we choose to work with and the services we provide to clients.
“Ultimately, our aim is to have a positive impact on society. I firmly believe in a Purpose Beyond Profit. Everything we do should have meaning,” he said.
Also speaking at the dinner, Country Managing Partner, Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, reiterated to his staff the value of hard work and commitment; saying these are the very qualities which have contributed to the success of Deloitte Ghana over the years.
He further highlighted some corporate social responsibilities that the company has embarked on, which include training young professionals through the Deloitte Graduate Academy over the past 3 years; training more than 1,000 professionals who are still making an impact in various fields; and also training Agbogbloshie women in book-keeping.
Again, the company has adopted one hectare of land and planted 1,100 trees to help curb climate change with help from the Forestry Commission; organised financial literacy support for tertiary students; and made donations to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital during the height of the pandemic.
Mr. Kwadwo Owusu assured clients, staff and government of the company’s commitment to keep offering its best to satisfy all parties.
