Ghana’s number one urban and youth-oriented radio has partnered the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) for an upcoming business ideation competition.
At the official signing ceremony which took place at the NEIP Headquarters at Cantoments Accra, Osei Kuffour, Head of YFM Triangle said: “YFM as a youth-oriented brand believes there are countless benefits of entrepreneurship, but these benefits are especially true for youth who have yet to enter the workforce, that is why we are working on a business ideation competition concept. This will encourage our youth base to have something meaningful.
Furthermore, entrepreneurship will help the youth think creatively, cultivate their analytical and problem-solving skills, and seek out ways to learn, evaluate, and improve their craft. Entrepreneurship is truly the best preparation for youth with any career or business aspirations, from the arts to finance.”
Kofi Owusu Nkansah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of NEIP in his statement said: NEIP primarily focuses on providing business development services; startup incubators and funding for young businesses to enable them grow and become successful.
The NEIP is therefore set within the context of Ghana’s long-term strategic vision of consolidating its middle-income status, building an industry-driven economy capable of providing decent jobs that are suitable and sustainable for development. This partnership with the brand for the young and young at heart will bridge the gap between the NEIP and those who have been mandated to serve and support, the youth.
Also present at the signing ceremony was the Programmes Manager of YFM Accra Eddy Blay, Sales Manager, Mohammed Oshodi and the team from NEIP included Deputy CEO of NEIP Abigail Swad Laryea and Directors of the outfit.
YFM has curated a business ideation competition which seeks to provide the youth a platform to groom themselves to become seasoned entrepreneurs.
