Global Accelerex Nigeria has been ranked among the fastest-growing companies in Africa by Financial Times (FT).
The Fintech and payments solutions company operates in five countries on the continent, including Ghana, and was recognised by FT in its inaugural ranking of Africa’s fastest-growing companies in 2022.
Commenting on the ranking, Chief Executive Officer-Global Accelerex Ghana, Sebastian Yalley said: “The growth we are witnessing in Nigeria is reminiscent of the growth we are experiencing in Ghana, Kenya, Congo DRC and Tanzania where we have operations, and this ranking by the Financial Times comes as a testament of our drive toward achieving unicorn status in the next decade”.
He said the company’s growth across its various country operations is driven largely by its people, process, product and capital. “We keep a close watch on the technological landscape and consumer needs, using insights derived to shape our product offering to simplify everyday life across Africa through innovations in digital payments and financial services.”
He also said the bedrock of every business is its customers, adding: “That is why we appreciate the patronage of our clients. They are an invaluable part of our current growth”.
In Ghana, Accelerex is rapidly gaining huge market traction – supporting six bank clients with over 16 percent share of Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals in the market, and have processed approximately GH¢900million worth of transactions since inception in 2020.
Its Ghana operation is currently also supporting banks in Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone, putting customers at the centre of every product innovation to ensure that solutions provide value for money.
“Banks are the major client segment that we target with our product and services,” Mr. Yalley added. “Our high level of compliance and high security standards allow us to develop custom POS applications which suit the business process of our clients.”
It is therefore no surprise that Global Accelerex Ghana was recognised by the Ghana Telecommunication Chamber as Innovative e-payment solution Provider of the Year at the 2021 Information Technology and Telecommunication Awards.
Apart from providing digital payments and financial service distribution solutions that help banks to offer in-store and online payment acceptance solutions to their merchants and reach customers in last-mile communities, Accelerex Ghana is also local distributor of the NEXGO brand of devices, one of the world’s top-ten Android POS hardware manufacturers.
