Ghana RE opens a branch office in Casablanca

Ghana Reinsurance PLC (Ghana Re), one of the largest reinsurance companies in the sub-region has opened a new branch in Casablanca, Morocco for the Northern Africa market.

Ghana Re, established in 1972, operates also in Kenya and Cameroon through regional structures. The Kenya subsidiary takes charge of reinsurance operations in the East and Southern Africa while Cameroon is responsible for operations in the CIMA zone (Central Africa). The new regional office, Ghana Reinsurance Casablanca Office, comes in line with the expansion strategy of the Ghanaian reinsurer in North Africa.

The regional office is located at CFC Tower, Lot 57, 5^th Floor, Avenue Main Street, Casa Anfa, Hay Hassani, Casablanca, Morocco; with Mr. Mohammed BENHAMIDA as the Regional Director.

With a multi-disciplinary University skill in IT, Financial Management and Insurance, and a specialisation in Reinsurance information systems (for more than twenty-two years), Mr. BENHAMIDA has great expertise that has granted him credibility with clients and employers throughout his career.

In 2020, Ghana Re achieved a 23% increase on the previous year’s turnover to record GH¢311.56million, an equivalent of US$52.97million.
