The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to the examination body, it will dispatch the results to schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education for easy access by individual candidates.
Nonetheless, the results are also available online and candidates who desire to do so can access their results online at the Council’s website www.waecgh.org
Providing some statistical background of candidate profile, WAEC indicated that a total of 572,167 candidates, made up of 287,730 males and 284,437 females, wrote the examination. Out of those, 61 had visual impairment and 321 were identified with hearing impairment. In addition, 86 candidates had special assessment needs due to other conditions.
The WAEC in a press statement to announce the results, signed by its Head of Legal Counsel Department, Rev. Similarly, the entire results of 46 candidates had been cancelled for the offence of either taking mobile phones into the examination hall or impersonation.
WAEC is withholding the Subject Results of 148 candidates and the entire results of 109 candidates, pending conclusion of investigations into various cases of alleged examination malpractice.
