Engen Ghana supports victims of Bogoso-Appiate explosion

Engen Ghana Limited, one of the leading players in the petroleum downstream as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and in response to the recent fatal explosion in Bogoso-Appiate has donated mattresses, mosquito nets, rice, cooking oil and canned foods to the Appiate community.

This is line with the company’s long-established CSR policy which focuses on improving livelihoods and benefitting society.

Mr. Brent Nartey, MD, Engen Ghana expressed the company’s sincere condolences to the victims of the tragic incident.



He said “at Engen Ghana we live by the principle: ‘the best way of living is giving ‘and offering help to the people of Appiate in the form of much needed supplies.

Mr. Nartey further called on local businesses and community members who are in position to help to do what they can to support the relief effort.”

Mr. Abu Ramadan, Deputy Director, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), receiving the items on behalf of the people of Appiate thanked Engen for their kind gesture and called on other organizations to emulate it.

It will be recalled that the explosion at Appiate, in the Western Region of Ghana, occurred on January 21, 2022, following a highway collision involving a transport lorry carrying explosives to a local mine.

Engen Ghana Limited is a national petroleum retailer supplying refined petroleum products and other downstream-related services to both private and commercial customers around the country. The company operates a network of over 40 service stations. Engen Ghana Limited was acquired by Mocoh Ghana Limited in 2019.
