 Directors of Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank Limited at Woamoase in the Sekyere South District of Ashanti Region has reiterated the Bank’s commitment to ensure the best and most convenient banking to customers at all times.

According to the Board Chairman of the Bank, Kennedy Obiri Yeboah, banking is now a very competitive business and Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank is extremely mindful of its banking services to customers.



The Bank according to management is always looking for opportunities to serve customers better and so they would spare no effort to ensure that customers get the best of banking service in this highly competitive banking environment.

Mr Obiri Yeboah   gave these assurances at the official opening of the Bank’s  newly refurbished head office complex at Woamoase.

According to him, the facelifting of the head office complex is aimed at bringing convenient banking to all stakeholders within the Woamoase enclave and its adjourning communities and towns in the district.

The newly refurbished head office which is a two-story building has a roomier banking hall, spacious car park and enough office space for personnel to transact business in confidence as well as a conference hall for official meetings.

The Board Chairman has assured customers of a delightful customer service saying “we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that customers are happy doing business with us”

Mr Obiri Yeboah, mentioned that another basic importance of putting up an ultra-modern head office befitting the status of the bank, is to provide adequate logistic and work space for staff to give off their best as well as accommodating the increasing number of staff to enable the bank realise its aspirations of becoming one of the most sought-after rural banks in Ghana.

As socially responsible bank, the bank has in the past years, extended several supports to the communities in which it operates including schools, hospitals, the police, farmers, education and health directorates, market women, artisans, itinerant traders among other recognised groupings.

The Board Chairman, finally assured the people and prospective customers that the Bank would continue to collaborate with the chiefs and elders in the communities within their operational territories as well as all other stakeholders to provide their financial needs and eventually to improve the quality of lives of the people.

The CEO, the Bank, Mr Paul Kwabena Oduro tells Business & Financial Times in an exclusive interview that “We cannot continue to do the same thing all the time, offer same banking services as our competitors do, we have to challenge ourselves to improve upon our service particularly in the area of product design and delivery” he said.

Mr Oduro is of the view that, the rural banking industry has a purpose for which they were established and Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank would not move away from its core objectives of ensuring that the communities in which the Bank operates sees the kind of development they desire to have.

“We have the expertise in managing small businesses and petty trading and that has been our primary focus as a rural bank, when development occurs at the grass root level it becomes a clear indication that the country’s future economic outlook is brighter”, he stressed.

According to him, the bank will not relent in its efforts to remain innovative in its products development agenda which will be tailor made so that they would continue to be relevant particularly to the community in which they operate.
