GILCO General pays GH¢3Om as claims in 2021

Andrew Achampong-Kyei, Managing Director, GLICO General, has disclosed that the company paid in excess of GH¢30million in claims last year. He revealed this at the outdooring ceremony of the company’s Home Owners and Motor Club in Accra recently.

According to the Managing Director, “Over the years, the company has served its cherished customers with The Cushioned Life”. He also disclosed that Insurance has gone beyond a mere cover to its numerous customers. More importantly, too, the company has been there to take loans and put its customer at ease even in the face of disaster.

However, what the company is doing stretches beyond merely giving clients its cover for their vehicles in the event of an unfortunate incident: “We are also giving them more than just a policy number, we are also rewarding loyalty and celebrating consistency”.



He also called on prospective customers to secure their homes against fire, theft, flood or any other natural disaster that may occur – saying technology has always been one of GLICO’s hallmarks, and against the backdrop of COVID-19 and the impact it continues to have on operations as well as the economy, the progression of GLICO’s business is a testament to the company’s resilience and dedication.

About Motor/Home Owners Club 

Charles Graham-Mensah, General Manager Business Development, explaining the Motor and Homeowners club said it is an innovation introduced by GLICO General to offer clients added benefits to their Home Insurance and Motor Comprehensive policies at no additional cost.

According to the General Manager-Business Development, the motor club is targetted at GLICO’s prestige individual clients who purchase comprehensive motor insurance policies with a premium of GH¢2,000 and above.

Such clients automatically qualify to be a part of the GLICO General Motor Club. However, they need to give their consent to be part of the club. He further explained that by giving their consent, a membership card will be issued to them instantly. Importantly, too, the card has an access code that is used to redeem benefits of the club.

Terms and Conditions of the Homeowners Club Membership

In addition to the benefits of our enhance homeowners in policy:

  • Clients who pay their homeowners insurance policies with a premium of GH¢500 and above get to be members of our Homeowners Club.
  • Such clients automatically qualify to a part of the GLICO General Homeowners Club. However, they need to give their consent to be part of the club.
  • By giving their consent, a membership card will be issued to them instantly.
  • The card has an access code which they will use to redeem benefits of the club.

Nadia Buari and Joe Mettle were named brand ambassadors for Home Owners and Motor respectively. Mr. Edward Fokuo Kyei, Group Managing Director of the GLICO Group, did the official unveilling of the Homeowners and Motor Owners Club Membership.
