Imexco partners 6th edition of Italian Cuisine Week in the World

Imexco Ghana Ltd., a leader in the country’s beverage distribution sector, has partnered the Embassy of Italy in Accra and the Italian Trade Agency to mark the 6th edition of Italian Cuisine Week in the World. The Italian Cuisine Week is an event to showcase and promote Italian food and wine—and their respective cultures—to Ghana and the rest of the world.

Imexco has a long and proud association with Italian wine and beverage products, and is the sole distributor in Ghana of some reputable Italian brands, such as Campari, illy, San. Pellegrio/Acqua Panna, Fantinel, Antinori, and Giacondi. Therefore, it was only right for the company to associate with the amazing celebration of Italian cuisine and wine.

Describing its association with Italian wine, Imexco stated: “Deciding to import and distribute Italian wines was a no brainer: Italy holds the most prestigious and sought-after wines in the world, and there is no trader of wines that can afford to ignore that. Italy’s strength comes from its diversity in its territories: the north of Italy produces classics such as Barolo from the Piedmont region, and down to the south where you have very distinct features, flavors and notes such as the famous Primitivo from Puglia. Italian wines are able to compete with the best in the world, both from an artisanal perspective, which holds great knowledge and tradition, to the more modern, young and innovative spirit of wines. It is thanks to this that we are able to offer Italian wines in all sectors of trade: from hotels to nightclubs and from traditional to modern trade.”

For Imexco, the Italian Cuisine Week offered a platform to showcase the company’s amazing drinks and educate the community on the drinking habits in a country that offers a different weather and culture from Italy. “We hope that the Italian community will patronize Italian drinks and perpetuate their culture in Ghana. Our drinks are available at all the restaurants, hotels, café, lounges, night clubs and small eateries in Ghana. We hope that the consumption of Italian drinks will become an integrated part of Ghanaian culture,” Imexco added.
