Ghana National Petroleum Corporation supports training of TTU staff

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), through the GNPC Foundation, has presented a cheque for GH¢344,991 to the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) to support in training and upgrading of staff at the University.

Freddie Blay, Board Chairman of GNPC presenting the cheque explained that: “GNPC has approved of few things to some institutions and TTU is within the oil enclave and must benefit from any opportunity.”

He mentioned that GNPC has considered a proposal from TTU in putting up Petroleum Center at the University hopefully next year. “We are ready to help and be partners in development for the betterment of the economy and the country at large.”



Dr. Dominic Eduah, Executive Director of GNPC Foundation explained that GNPC received a request from TTU for support. GNPC, he said: “is here to impact lives in terms of education and training. Since 2017, GNPC has awarded 5,852 scholarships to Ghanaian students across the country.”

Currently, he said GNPC is dealing with 30 institutions in the country. “395 out of the 5,852 have gotten scholarship at TTU, which is very significant and shows our commitment to TTU.

Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, Vice Chancellor of TTU thanked GNPC for the kind gesture.
