20 students receive GH¢10,000 scholarship package

ASA Savings and Loans has extended its benevolence to 20 needy but brilliant pupils and students in the Ashanti Region by offering them GH¢10,000 worth of scholarship package.

The offer covered beneficiaries from class six to Senior High School, selected from the Santasi and Gyakye Pramso catchment area of the financial institution.

The scholarship package was meant to support the education of the students by way of buying basic learning materials. The beneficiaries are all wards of low-income customers of ASA Savings and Loans.

The GH¢10,000 package was a fraction of the company’s 2021 corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the region and the country at large.

In an interview, the Santasi Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, Francis Gyabeng said the gesture was “to put smiles on the faces of our cherished customers by reducing part of their financial burden.”

Education he noted, remains a bedrock of development, thus the commitment of the company to support parents give their children quality education to bequeath them a better future.

He added that the financial institution as part of its CSR, would embarked on other initiatives like drilling of bore holes, health screening and make donations to the needy in society.

A petty trader, Ms Comfort Gyimah, had her child-final JHS student benefited from the scholarship. She expressed gratitude for the support saying “I have been doing business with ASA for the past five years and they have been very caring. It is not every company that will prioritise the private life of its customers.
