Established insurance company GLICO Group has picked three awards in a recently held esteemed 2021 Ghana Insurance Awards in Accra. The vibrant company stood out in three different categories of its subsidiaries-GLICO General, GLICO Life and GLICO Healthcare.
The company’s outstanding performance in the year under review attracted the attention of the organizers of the Ghana Insurance Awards to decorate Andrew Achampong-Kyei (Esq), Managing Director, GLICO General as the CEO of the Year, General Insurance Category.
The legal practitioner assumed the Managing Director position of GLICO General in 2018, and prior to his appointment, he was the Company’s Secretary and Head of Legal & Special Risk for GLICO Group.
Indeed, the company has risen to become one of the top four private non-Life Insurance companies in Ghana, since he took over as Managing Director of GLICO General. Due to his exceptional leadership qualities, GLICO General continued its growth trajectory by reporting a year-on-year growth in key financial metrics.
Today, GLICO General can boast of an elaborate portfolio of businesses as well as the effective management of high-risk non-life insurance policies such as bonds and engineering policies. And having touched many lives through countless donations to health centres in the country, its health wing-GLICO Healthcare won the ‘Product Innovation Award’ (Private Health Category).
Its Life Insurance company, GLICO Life extended their dominance to the Personal Lines Insurer category and was adjudged the ‘Personal Lines Insurer of the Year’. The Mobile Pharmacy which is an example of GLICO’s exceptional innovation in healthcare, is a medicine delivery solution in collaboration with key pharmacies nationwide.
It was themed ‘Rewarding standards in the Insurance Industry’ and the award ceremony sought to reward companies doing exploits in the insurance industry.
GLICO Group’s acting Head, Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Kukua Apprey in a post-event interview said: “We are excited for these honours, it is a testament of what we have done in the year under review.
