MEROKAG Pharmacy has been adjudged DKT International’s overall best distributor for 2020. They were presented with an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai for two people.
The award scheme was instituted to support the activities of the non-profit social enterprise whose core mission is to contribute to raising modern contraceptives prevalence rates (mCPR), reduce maternal mortality and provide safe, quality options for HIV/AIDS prevention through dynamic social marketing in the country.
DKT International Annual Distributors Loyalty Award was established in 2019 to recognize the roles that distributors play in ensuring the products reach consumers.
The organization is currently the market leader in the distribution of condoms (Fiesta and Kiss condoms) and also the proprietary owner of Lydia Contraceptives, the brand with the complete range of contraceptives options in the country.
It started operations in 2012 – providing safe, affordable and effective choices of contraceptives and HIV prevention products and services, through pharmacies, chemical shops, private clinics and maternity homes and hospitals. DKT operates offices in 24 countries but with presence in 90 countries worldwide.
The event was used to introduce Fiesta Condoms in its new packaging as well as the newly-introduced ORAQUICK HIV Self-Test kits.
The newly appointed Country Director for DKT International Anglophone West Africa (AWA), Kwesi Bo Yawson, mentioned in his message to the winners said, “DKT is excited to be in partnership with you and we recognize your efforts in helping to increase the modern contraceptive prevalence rates while promoting the prevention and reduction of HIV/AIDS and working to reduce the maternal mortality rates in Ghana”.
The National Sales and Distribution Senior Manager, Frederick Kwahene, used the occasion to explain to the distributors the criteria for this year’s awards scheme and urged them to continue in their efforts of helping DKT International in providing safe and quality options of family planning products in Ghana.
The other winners were; Decent Pharmacy, Albertisam Herbal, Osons Chemist. Apart from the Citations they received, the winners also received appliances and other devices ranging from Tabletop fridges to TV sets.
The sales team members of all the winners also received gift vouchers worth hundreds of Ghana Cedis each.
