Miniplast Limited has donated 500 chairs and tables to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to support the refurbishment of its various centres for annual promotional exams.
According to the Deputy Managing Director for Miniplast Limited, Nadim Ghanem-Pares, the gesture is a way of showing appreciation to the Ghana Armed Forces for contributing to a peaceful country for businesses to flourish.
“I to say a very big ‘thank you’ to the Ghana Armed Forces. We are very proud of you for contributing to peace of the nation in the fight against illegal mining and fishing,” he said.
He added that the Ghana Armed Forces came to his company’s premises to purchase some tables and chairs, but Miniplast took the opportunity to offer its support by giving them free to motivate them in their work.
The Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed forces, Major General Peter Nicholas Andoh who received the donation on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, said the kind gesture by Miniplast falls in line with the GAF’s plans to partner with civilians and rest of the community to deliver security across the country.
He said the annual promotion exams are a way of encouraging officers to learn and understand intricacies of the military profession and how it operates; therefore, the tables and chairs will go a long way to support the GAF.
Addressing the media, Major General Peter Nicholas Andoh touched on plans to bring the current spate of security threats to a halt. He said the GAF and various security stakeholders are putting in place measures to tighten security in the country.
“The Armed Forces are collaborating with the rest of the security agencies – the police, prisons, to tighten and enhance our operations. So, you will see a lot of patrols within the urban areas; and you will also see a lot of highway-patrols – especially in the West and Northern parts of the country,” he assured.
He took the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to Miniplast Limited, and assured them of a close partnership.
