The whole of the Central Region literally gathered last weekend at the Centre for National Culture to witness one of the most talked about event in the history of Cape Coast events, the Central Entertainment and Business Award (CEBA’21).
People from Twifo Praso, Moree, Mankessim, Assin Foso, Kasoa, etc all came to be a part of the grand event that seeks to honor and promote “made In Central Region” businesses and entertainment.
The event kickstarted with the red-carpet session, hosted by Ghigh Jesus, Afia Kwakyewaa and Ella Aubyn. They got most of the guests talking about their expectations and impressions for the night.
Traditional rulers like Obrempong Nana Kwame Afona II, Nkusukum, Nana Weba of Abura state, Nana Eduaba II of Asebu traditional area, Magajiya of Gonja
Sisaala, and Gurunsi tribes, all of and from Central region, came with their entourage to cement the credence of the event. Representatives from the regional ministry, the Ghana Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service and Christian council all came to grace the occasion.
The night got more thrilling when the host Mc, RTP award winner and 2019 host of Miss Ghana, Mr Ato Ghartey, together with co-host, Dorinda Egyirba, paved way for the opening performances from the Afrimuda cultural troupe, gospel artist, Wonder, and Joyce Blessing, respectively.
Legend Ebo Taylor, Prof. Martin Owusu Okyere, Joojo Mills Robertson, David Dontoh, amongst others, were honored during the night. Same went for top officials in the region like the Regional Minister, the MP for KEEA district, Percy Quiacoe, Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan of COA-FS and a few prominent people who have been a pivotal element in the regions’ development.
The fulcrum of the whole night and the event was to recognize, honor and promote central region, but most importantly, the organizers sought to use that platform to appeal for support for the pupils of Twifo Nuamakrom (a small village of the Atti Morkwaa district) whose classroom block and roof got ripped off by a deadly storm. As part of what the event stands for, the organizers urged and assured all the attendees that, percentage of the monetary votes will be donated to these kids to help refurbish their school block.
The event was packed with indigenous artists in the secular music industry like Boggy Wenzday, Amankrado, Saa boy no, Neujay, etc. Intermittent MC’s; Obroni Kojo Nino and Akuapem Poloo threw the crowd into a state of ecstasy while Kwan Pa band swept them off their feet.
Nana Ekua Apeatsewah II, patron of the event, gave her closing remarks and assurances of a more exciting edition in the subsequent years to come.
It was such a long night, yet, the crowd stayed till the last item for the night was executed. Such a memorable experience it was.
