Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) is a nonpartisan and non-governmental association of Professionals hailing from the Kwahu area of the Republic of Ghana. Members of this professional network realize the importance of utilizing the knowledge and skills they possess in various careers to advance this shared interest by contributing to the socio-economic welfare and sustainable development of Kwahu and Kwahus throughout Ghana and globally.
KPN was duly launched on the 15th of December 2018 in a grand ceremony at the Swiss Spirits Alisa Hotel-Accra. Delegations which graced the occasion included a strong contingent from the Kwahu Traditional Council, Kwahu Forum, various Kwahu interest groups, representatives from the various township associations and some notable government appointees.
As a relatively young association we have in the short period of our existence influenced and evolved the narrative about the Kwahu landscape and the people who hail from Kwahu while addressing certain misconceptions which have plagued successful Kwahu businesses and their owners. Kwahus are mostly known for their business acumen and trading exploits within business centers like Okaishie, Kantamanto and Abossey Okai however KPN has brought to the fore the undeniable fact that Kwahus indeed can be found in a broad spectrum of professional backgrounds.
The network’s active membership base currently stands at a little over 1000 professionals belonging to various occupational and career fields including Engineers, Architects, Accountants, Doctors, Nurses, Public Servants, Lawyers, Teachers, Importers, Real Estate Developers, Merchants, Farmers, Lecturers etc.
Our tentacles are spread across the globe with a number of international branches in London – UK and New York – USA with new branches soon to be opened in Berlin – Germany and Ontario – Canada.
Our motto: “help a Kwahu to help Kwahu” is a rallying call to all Kwahu Professionals no matter where they may find themselves to be vessels of good tidings that unburdens the shoulders of their kinsmen and countrymen.
Leadership
With the mantle of leadership having been passed on from our former President Davis Opoku-Ansah (OPK) who oversaw the formative years of our network with utmost success to our current President Mr. Prince Boateng, KPN is poised to travel even further and champion more positive and impactful initiatives for the betterment of our members, Kwahu, and Ghana as a whole
Membership
Membership of KPN is based on recommendation and a prospective member must hail from Kwahu, must be 25 years old and above and must have a recognizable professional background.

Our Branches
The parent network for KPN is based in Accra-Ghana and is the main body which coordinates most of our activities within the country. This is also our largest branch in terms of membership.
Our North American branch: KPN-North America is made up of members in the USA and Canada with members spread across major cities like New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston and in Canadian cities like Ontario, Toronto and Montreal.
Our European branches include KPN-UK which is headquartered in London coordinating all activities in Europe. New branches are opening soon in Germany and Shanghai-China.
Projects and initiatives
The primary objective of KPN is to champion the professional development of our members by providing a platform for business interactions and partnerships through corporate social networking for our members. We also aim to create a sense of belonging that will engender great affinity for the land of our birth and Ghana as a whole. Championing the development of Kwahu through the strategic lobbying for both public and private investments and developing the potentials of the youth especially those in Kwahu by giving them positive role models to emulate are also topmost on our agenda.
Some specific projects and developmental initiatives instituted since the inception of KPN include;
- KPN Give Back Project: an annual philanthropic and Health based initiative which provides free Medicare to the most underprivileged people in our communities in Kwahu every Easter Saturday.
Yenko Kwahu Festival: a tourism-based initiative designed to draw attention to and encourage our members and tourists from across the globe to visit the various unique tourist sites in Kwahu, from the majestic Odweanoma Mountains, the gravity defying Buruku Rock, the drought less Afram River to the biggest and most exotic hotel in West Africa, Rock City Hotel.
KPN Business Forum: a business and technology-oriented initiative which brings together various players in our trade, industry and commerce space to dialogue with members of our network especially business owners, executives and entrepreneurs to better understand the marketplace and to take advantage of new technologies.
Other social intervention projects such as the KPN COVID-19 SUPPORT FUND which benefited 5 health facilities within Kwahu during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic have also been instituted.
Our network also hosts a myriad of outdoor socializing and networking events including the
KPN Corporate Hangout, KPN Games, KPN Beach Day, KPN Pool Party, KPN ALL White Party etc.
