The Girls Education Initiative of Ghana (GEIG) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the African Leadership University (ALU). The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which sets out the terms of mutual support in achieving the objective of unlocking Africa’s vast youth potential for the continent’s development.
ALU takes a radically unique approach to education that merges classroom learning, with real world experience and the unique mission declared by each student of the university.
The school which has two campuses, one in Rwanda and the second in Mauritius (African Leadership College), grooms ethical leaders and entrepreneurs of the future by helping them develop skills and networks that will remain relevant amidst global change. This goal aligns with GEIG’s mission to transform the lives of young women through education and professional opportunities, hence the partnership.
Through this partnership, GEIG will disseminate within its student networks, information regarding the application processes to ALU’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs including the fully and partially funded scholarship programs at both campuses. GEIG will also offer summer internship opportunities to students of ALU who will spend the holiday learning first hand and supporting the NGO in executing its programs.
On its part ALU will among other benefits, provide complimentary invitations to GEIG staff and other educators within the GEIG network to attend leadership summits and educational conferences organised by ALU. ALU will ensure long term tracking of beneficiaries from GEIG and share career growth and progress to enable GEIG in the writing of impact reports for stakeholders and internal use.
Both organisations are hopeful that this new relationship will go a long way to prepare great leaders for the future.
