B5 Plus Limited, the largest and biggest steel manufacturing company in Ghana – located at Tema, has given huge relief to the COVID-19 fight by offering free oxygen-refilling to all government and private hospitals in the country.
The free oxygen supply from the company commenced in March 2020 and will continue until the day COVID-19 is defeated in the country.
Mr. Mike Mukesh Thakwani, the CEO who announced this package, said the company as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) geared-up to support the needy and decided to invest much of the CSR toward this free oxygen-refilling initiative, considering how crucial the fight against COVID-19 has become recently.
He observed that the new wave of the virus has seen a rise in the mortality rate and requires more effort to save lives, and “as a good corporate citizen who cares about mother Ghana, we deem it fit to support the country with oxygen – which is much-needed in the emergency Intensive Care Unit (ICU)”.
Mr. Thakwani urged government to step-up its efforts toward combatting the COVID-19 virus by enforcing all safety protocols outlined, in a bid to ensure economic activities are done in a safe manner.

They have constructed this plant in line with government’s vision and their mission to promote ‘Made in Ghana’ products.
When contacted for comment in respect to the free oxygen donated by B5 Plus, Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries, Dr. George Dawson–Amoah, highly commended the initiative of B5 Plus management and urged all other companies to emulate it by enhancing their Corporate Social Responsibility for the betterment of Ghana.
