Show your car some love

0

As it is popularly known, February has been dubbed the month of love. Most lovers wait for this month, especially, 14th, which is Valentine’s Day, to express their utmost love to their partners. It’s beautiful when you see all those videos and images flying over social media.

For car owners, the car can also be a lover. Yes, a lover and don’t get me wrong.

Once upon a time, I was having a conversation with a friend, Azu, who drives a BMW E36 M3 Coupe. He spoke passionately about his car, referred to it as his girlfriend and I was very much surprised.

Today, I will share few tips on how to show your car some love, not just for this month but throughout the year.

Car detailing

Car detailing is popular today. It moves away from traditionally just washing your car with detergent and water.

Detailing can be done on the body of the car (exterior) and the inside (interior). They include dashboard polishing, scrubbing and brushing of the car floors, cleaning of the seats whether it’s leather or fabric to remove stains, waxing of the body for a shiny look, polishing to remove small dents, and others. There is a lot you can do in this aspect. How about a new air refresher to make the car small well.

New shoes …. Why not

New shoes are always on the to-buy list of every woman, if not the second item then it is always the first. For a car, the tires are its shoes. New tires for your car will not be bad especially if they are worn out. Also, few people have the knowledge that car tires do expire whether they are worn out or not.

Engine wash

A clean and good-looking engine and engine compartment is a joy to look at especially for us the technical people. When you have a look at a brand new car’s engine, you will appreciate where I am coming from.

An engine wash can be a bit tricky if you don’t find a competent person with the right equipment and experience. The least amount of water that may enter the engine will cause problems.

Wash the engine to remove dust and oil deposits. It makes the car easier to be worked on, saves it from developing further problems and helps uncover any crack or defect hidden by the dirt.

You could go the extra mile of flushing the radiator. It does a lot of good.

Onboard Diagnosis

Onboard diagnostic tools and equipment are now common at most garages. Book an appointment and visit a garage, have your car diagnosed and if any hidden fault is detected, please have it fixed, if not immediately then it should be in the shortest possible time.

These are few tips you can do to show love to your car in this month of love. There is more you can do. Give her a treat.

Covid -19 is real. Please wear your mask, wash your hand, social distance and stay safe.
