Board for Institute of Directors-Ghana elects new members

The Institute of Directors-Ghana at its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 14th January, 2021 via Zoom, has elected an eleven-member Board. The President, Mr. Rockson Dogbegah (FIoD) and the Vice-President, Rev. (Mrs.) Angela Carmen Appiah (FIoD) were elected unopposed.

The other elected members of the Board are Prof. John Bright Kobla Aheto (HFIoD), Prof. Albert Puni (FIoD), Dr. Frank Boateng (MIoD), Ing. Ben Richard Aniagyei (FIoD), Mrs. Mary Asare-Yeboah (MIoD), Mrs. Belinda Dede Tandoh (MIoD), Enoch Larbi Aboagye, Esq. (MIoD) and Kwame Amoako, Esq. (MIoD). Ing. Frederick Emmanuel Aryeetey (MIoD), the CEO of IoD-Gh is an automatic member of the Board per the Constitution of the Institute.

The new Board was thereafter sworn into office by Her Ladyship, Justice Sophia Rosetta Bernasko Essah, a Justice of the Appeals Court of Ghana.



Speaking at the AGM, the President of the Institute, recounted the achievements of the Institute for the past two years among which are; increased membership by over four hundred (400) new members, transitioning of the Institute to become a professional institute after twenty (20) years of existence, development of a Bill to legislate Directorship in Ghana which is currently undergoing Stakeholder consultations, Institution of the Directors’ Week Celebration and the IoD-Gh Corporate Governance Excellence Awards among others. At the AGM, a new Constitution for the Institute was unanimously adopted by members.

In his acceptance speech, Rockson K. Dogbegah (FIoD) expressed deep appreciation to the immediate past Council for the sacrifices made to achieve the successes chalked. He also thanked the members of the Institute for the confidence reposed in him and the newly elected Board Members. He further assured members of the Council’s commitment to champion the objects of the Institute and to promote the culture of good Corporate Governance in Ghana.

Rockson Dogbegah is the Executive Chairman of Berock Ventures Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors-Ghana, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB) UK; Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), UK; Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Construction (FGIOC) and a Chartered Member of the Society for the Environment. Rockson Dogbegah is a Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Construction Manager, a Strategist, an Entrepreneur, and Corporate Governance Practitioner. He has about 30 years Executive Managerial Level Experience in diverse fields. He is a Thought Leader in: Construction Management, Organizational Development, Coaching and Mentoring, Entrepreneurial Development, Policy Development, Strategy Development, and Corporate Governance Expertise. He has served on over thirty Bboards and Committees in his professional life and has over thirty excellence awards in various disciplines locally and internationally to his credit.
