The coronavirus pandemic which has hit almost the whole world did not leave Ghana behind hence stakeholders in the country are trying their best to educate their community on the symptoms and safety measures on how to avoid this pandemic.
Nana Susubribi Krobea Asante, the Omanhene of Asante Asokore traditional area together with Nananom of Asokore Traditional Council for the love and the welfare of the people in his traditional area embarked on a sensitisation programme on corona virus with the help of Nana S K B Foundation, a non-governmental organization of which Nana Susubribi Krobea Asante is the life patron.
The foundation took one week to embark on a house to house education on the preventive measures and symptoms of Corona virus in all the twenty- seven (27) towns, villages and hamlets in the traditional area. Amongst them are Asante Asokore, Senchi, Brofoyedru, Okaikrom, Ahensan, Akokoaso, Bomso and others.
The people within the traditional area were tutored on some of the precautionary measures that could be put in place to prevent them from contracting the virus. These include observing the social distancing protocol, washing of hands regularly with running water and soap, using alcohol based hand sanitisers and covering nose and mouth with tissue when coughing and sneezing. The people were also educated on the symptoms of the corona virus and were however advised to seek an emergency help from the nearest facility. Phone contacts were also given out for people to call for assistance should they experience any sign of corona virus.
Nana Susubribi Krobea Asante as part of his contribution towards the prevention of the pandemic donated soaps and sanitisers which amounted to about five thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢5,000) to the people of the traditional area of which about 1,400 people benefited.
Nana through the Foundation appealed to the people in his traditional area to pay heed to all directives given by the government on the preventive and control measures of this pandemic.
